Today in class we discussed the requirements for applying to graduate school and what graduate schools look for before they accept a student to their program. We learned that graduate schools require a statement of purpose in order to learn more about the applicants and to see what makes them stick out and a better choice over others for the program. We learned that you want to stick out to get noticed. This means join clubs, complete internships, and gather as much knowledge about the program before applying. The information learned in this class will be very helpful when it comes time for me to apply to graduate school. I now know how to write a proper statement of purpose and I know what things I should accomplish so that I stick out and look better to schools then the other applicants applying as well.
