Portraits and Light Meters

Today we discussed light meters and how to take portraits using window light and soft box light. We experimented with our light meters built into our cameras and learned how to set them to the correct settings. We also learned how to set our f-stops and shutter speeds. Once we learned this then we practiced taking portrait photographs using window light and soft box light. For window light my model was Marissa and for box light it was Alex. After taking these two labs I think that I’d rather use a box light when taking portraits. The light is more even and not as harsh as window light. I think it balances the scene better.
